are there mk2 polo headlamps (round ones) around with fittings for normal h4 bulbs?

mine had old style bulbs; rounded (bulbous?) things with a large round base rather than the common small-circle and 3-prong base on h4s.

i did get some halogen bulbs with the same fitting but they are still a bit crap too!

just want to know if it's worth scrapyard hunting

Most later (86 onwards) cars had them, as well as a lot of CL's and Coupe S's before that date.

You can get halogens with the appropriate base for the older headlamp units, but they're very much not cheap.

mine's an '86C reg but poverty spec.

i've got them bulbs 'with appropriate base' they were £5 each and still a bit poo!

i thought they were about, thanks for the info! a scrap hunting i shall go!
