howdy doody people, everyone kool? :-D

well I'm gonna give the old polo a good going over, but there a couple parts that usually get neglected in the usual routine...

you know the black trim (bottom of an 8v bumper, side bumpers etc etc) whats good for bringing them "back to life", they do seem quite dull after every wash and would like to spruce them up....

my paint is quite dull, have heard that t cut can work wonders, but is there any particular method i must employ while polishing or is it just a slap some on and off i go? I've got hold of a cordless machine polisher (one of these things http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/classic-mot...preadComp2.jpg) so hopefully it will have a good effect.

any other general tips would be much appreciated! thank you in advance!!

Not the expert when it comes to cleaning my car but usually follow instuctions on the bottles/containers and mine comes out fine :) Though i'm guessing there are a few people on here who know the odd tip or trick!

Set your car on fire, theres no point polishing a big liquidy poo'ey turd......

Get some autoglym bumper care for the black plastics and rubber, and the tyre dressing makes your tyres look cool, black n shiney baby!

yokohoma sunstrip went a lonnnggg time ago//the silver things on my wind screen wipders are screwed on, i just never get round to taking a screw driver down to my car...*sigh* they will come off one day, when u gonna lower you are car u bloody giraffe!

Yeah, Autoglym bumper care is good. As for T-Cut, just follow the instruction on the container and you'll be fine. Just don't forget to give it a good coat of wax once your done.

I use Back to Black on my plastic trim or wilko own brand, which ever is on 3 for 2. Have tried several waxes even autoglym, with nothing much between any of them. Have heard Mer is good but never tried it. I only buy stuff when its on offer.

lol i hear u on that one bogof till the end! lol, had a quick play around wth some t cut (next door neighboor had some left over from his merc) works bloody wonders....but of course I'm gonn have to wash the mofo then give it a full t cut treatment...ill look for some of those auto glym products 2moro when i go through hallly fordys 2moro..thanks for you are replies guys!

mate practise makes perfect you can't go too wrong.. wash it a couple times if you wish, u can use some body work shampoo conditioner if you please, although i've found it really does work since i couldn't wash a car to save my life Autoglym do a good range of products you can use to start out with, also cheaper i've found... Autoglym's Super Resin Polish will bring you are paint up nice, use it after a good going over with tcut, use a pack of valeters cloths u can get from halfords for a cheap price, with tcut rub over the area then take it off with a clean cloth make sure you work it in nicely, and you should be pleased. could take a few goes though to get the desired results..

you can use all sorts though mate it's all prefrence, wash mitts over sponges, microfibre cloths over a chamois, you know how it is.

tyre slick can be bought in a can from wilkinsons for a pound, will do the job but i find is shit if u want you are tyre's lookin nice, I'm usin some tyregel atm from turtlewax i think it is, doing a good job... although other things can work fine. make sure u dry it all off before you polish otherwise it will become all smeary and make a right mess

I find halfords to be a dear shop although theyve got a 3 for 2 on polishing stuff at the mo. Motasave is cheaper & even tesco & wilkinsons sell autoglym stuff

hey samurl hows it going dude? that damn bloody clutch got changed in the end..it decided to pack up the day before i was taking my other half to northampton everyone thought i wanted to race thembut it just i had to rev it up to about 3000 before i could take off..., your defo right about learning from your mistakes, I'm gonna go shopping for some stuff 2moza, the tcut really is amazing though, there was a it behind the handle that had really bad scratches from where the previous owners ring used to rub agaisnt the paintwork, one going over with tcut and then bam it was good as new! I'm gonna get some pics up of before and after

Yeah man mine got done a few days after we were speaking about it, had to do a 100mile round trip and it was fucking me off so bad lol.

yeah man thats it, try different things, you might like using something else better, make sure u dont drop anything then rub it over the car tho!
