Hello Gents,

this is my first post on here; I'm used to dealing in Golfs, but a friend of mine is interested in buying a polo and so I thought this would be THE place to be...

OK, he's interested in a POLO GTI.

My understanding is that after the G40 the GTI was VW's latest realistic attempt to create a more sporty polo...

This has since evolved into the Polo GTI Turbo ready for release this year... (when will they use then FTSI in a Polo?)

Anyway; he's looking at a post 2000 GTI Polo... some of these models had a red 'I'- this doesn't mean Turbo as it does in the Golf does it?

What are the specs on the 1.6 GTI? 125hp... is there another model I am unaware of? What is the 0-60 time on the little beast!?

there are no factory turbo Polo GTI's until the recent 9n3 Model.

There is only one mk5 polo GTI which does indeed have 125 bhp, with a book figure for 0-60 of about 8.5 seconds, obviously this figure will vary dependent on every car and there are alot of optional extras available with the car such as climate control and leather seats which are all added weight.

well worth getting one mate just watch out for the gearbox i had to have mine replaced and it cost me about 800 but good luck try and find 1 with leather they are ultra rare
