fitted new wheels...

Featured Replies

fitted some 15" BBS wheels to my Mk 4 polo, seemed to fit perfectly till i drove my car....

The front wheels rub against the plastic bit underneath the wheel arch, at the back, when at 3/4 lock. Was thinking that i could remove the plastic part as it only rubs slightly so wouldnt rub against main body of car. was just wandering whether this is wise? or if theres any solutions to my problem....

Il try and get some photos up soon, but for now any advice/help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

Spacers

yer thought about getting some... wasnt sure whether theyd help where it was rubbing tho. what size do you reckon i should get?

got any info on the wheels? and how low are you?

wheels are BBS wheels off a VW Corrado G60. Think they're standard wheels. 15 " rims and the car hasnt been lowered at all.

Same as these : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BBS-Alloy-Wheels-VW-...1QQcmdZViewItem

hmmm i'm surprised there rubbing, what size tyres do they have?

they're 205/50... probably why they're rubbing. I'm guessing i need lower profile tyres rite?

Not lower pro, but less width. I.e. 175/50 or 165/55. then the strech would make them lower profile than if they sat perfectly square on the rims. Inadvertanly buying you loads more clearance. If they are 6.5J then 175 should work nice.

are there any places that sell the tyres you could recommend? Also how much roughly am i looking to pay? and I'm guessing i need to buy a set of 4 not just the front 2, or could i get away with the different tyres?
