hello all,

the cats gone on my 97 polo 16v :-( ... how much should it cost me to get a new one fitted?! I hate realising I've been ripped off after I've paid!

i havn't yet... didnt realise they were so expensive! just got a message from someone saying they've got 1 thats only done 52k so fingers crossed!

cheers for the help guys, decided to just do a cat bypass for the moment tho, local garage said they'd do it for 30 notes... am v skint till i get payed and i need my car soon as! but I'm gunna keep my eye on that german ebay one just incase, got a few spare pennies on my paypal account! thanks again

p.s. yeah genuine volkswagen cats are bloody expensive, i got quoted £414 at my local caffyns (ouch!)

Can straight-through Cat bypasses be bought aftermarket? I've never actually seen it advertised!

nah u just have to chop the cat out and put a straight bit of pipe in there... I'm using the middle section out of a golf mk3 i think. it would fail an emissions test tho i think so I'm going to get it sorted as soon as
