legality of cutting into the cross member?

Featured Replies

i basically wanna cut away the section as shown so i can mount my intercooler up higher those crucial inches... will this be an instant mot fail? Andy (dubsytle) said , how exactly could they find out theres onna be a big bumper in the way, but i dont wanna take a grinder to it and then find out I'm fooked.

nice one thats the encouragement i needed :-p I'm gonna get the grinder out on thursday weather permitting!

no tester i know would ever check that as long you cant see it with the bumper on you'll be fine!!! :paranoid:

could you not just fold it flat? Will make it about as strong, and gain more space

its a bumper support panel thats pretty flimsy anyway...with the amount you are cutting even if an MOT tester saw it as long you have painted it up black after he wont say anything
