Just wondering where I would be able to get my mits on a pair of colour coded door handles for my dragon green 6n. They dont need locks as I have remote central locking, is this a VAG part or something some specialist company does somewhere?

Don't think you can buy them, just get the originals sprayed.

Picked up a pair of delocked handles from a local VW Audi Breakers for 20 sheets, just need to get them painted =] ... and fitted ofc

the rear bit that springs how can you spray that bit? thats y i haven't done mine yet

a friend of a friend owns a bodyshop so ill just send them there, wont cost me too much, hoping to get hold of some 16v bumpers and a tailgate to be smoothed too so i can get it done all at the same time, might cost me a bit but its gonna be worth it :p

Dead easy to paint them.

1x can of plastic primer

1x can of your car's colour

1x can of clear lacquer

Take the 2 rubber gaskets off the handles for where the handle meets the car door, and keep in a safe place.

Disengage the spring mechanism in the back of the handle which keeps the handle shut (it just unclips)

Mask up the back of the handle, and the shaft which is exposed when you pull the handle open.

You need to rub the handles down (I used 1000 grit wet & dry)

Then spray with the plastic primer.

Rub down again.

Spray with primer again.

rub down lightly.

Spray with colour/rub down a couple of times.

Spray with clear lacquer, then leave for about 1-2 weeks for it to harden.

Put gaskets back on again.

Put on car. Voila!!

I'll put some photos of when I did it up when I've found them. If a numpty like me can do it, so can you!!

(P.S. when spraying, suspend from wire coat hangers, and make sure you spray in an areas where either you've got it well masked off, or it doesn't matter if you get spray paint everywhere. Otherwise divorce may follow. )
