Am i getting the full power out on my G...

Featured Replies

The spec on my G is as follows:

PSD Full blend spec charger

Toothed belts

De-restricted airbox

chipped

I'm gettin 11psi on full boost...and this is the same before i changed my pipes over to the PSD sillicone pipe kit...i thought there may have been a leak in my old pipes as some had slight holes in...but its still at 11psi!

from people with the similar spec, what output are you getting? I'm happy with the power, its not exactly slow...but people like sally for example reckons it should be putting out more PSI through the charger!

Any ideas would be great, thanks

At what RPM?

I'm getting about 15 psi, but I've got an induction kit as well as toothies and full blend. The airboxes are well restrictive though.

The chip will have no influence on the boost.

Ah, I've also got a BMC panel filter...but assuming that wouldnt do a great deal either...

Its usually about 5 - 6k rpm

I think Sally said it should be about 15psi too...so do you think it may be the airbox? I'm still waiting for jabba to ring me about their induction kit from about last year "when they get their stock in" ... jokers.

It's not hard to fix a cone filter in place of the airbox, but the heatshield is a good thing to have.

It might just be your boost gauge though.

Check again for boost leaks, I checked mine when I thought my boost was low, and it turned out to be the pipe that goes from the boost pipe into the inlet manifold, it had come off.

Do you have a GT inlet manifold? My boost rating reduced when putting a GT inlet manifold on.

I have a full blend charger running on standard v-belts with standard de-restricted airbox, I make 13-14 psi at about 5-6k rpm, perhaps your boost gauge is goosed? What pipe have you used to it? I believe some types of piping can give false readings.

Cheers insight ill check that out, and nah i dont have the GT inlet manifold on it...

It may be the boost gauge, you're right...the pipe is just the pipe that came with it, and its just a long thin clear plastic cable. I'm going to investigate, or buy a good boost gauge...autometer?

Its still damn good fun though, love G's!
