went to lock my car to day, turnt the key (crunch) so i toke the handle off and the in sides had just crumbled were the bar comes outa the back, so i swaped it over with the passinger one,

so i think i need a new handle and key , or if i could put my barrol in a new handle,

any iders, or any 1 with a spare mk4 handle,

Yeah, apparently the insides are made deliberately weak so that its not possible to break into the car by screwdrivering the lock. You should be able to swap the barrel over, but be careful as the assembly that includes that bar coming out of the back has a spring in it, and you don't want all the bits to go pinging everywhere when you dismantle it.

were could i get a handle from just had a quick look on ebay and i think they changed them after 98.

Scrapyard's your best bet, TBH. You can use a handle from a mk4 polo or a mk2 ibiza, or a similar age sharan/galaxy/alhambra as they are identical. I've got 2 delocked ibiza handles on my mk4 polo.

vw do a repair kit for the barrel eccentrics, not sure how much tho.

I got a new paddle(the thing that snaps) from my local vw garage for just under £4, rear handle was under £20.
