The front splitter on my GTi has been through the wars! scuffed and nasty looking. I cant colour code it cos the front of my Polo is so..very..low at the moment and it'd be a total waste of money! So I'm just wondering, If i Took it off, and sanded it smooth...remove the bumpy texture and everything, would It come up black again? or be completely sanded and rough looking? Has anyone tried it? even somone who sanded it before colour coding? Just want to know did it look "finished" or did it definately need that coat of colour?

dunno mate the VR6 splitter on my clio scrapes all the time and never seems to scuff and thats 60mm dropped...

somebody told me that you can get black plastic trim restorer thats some kind of acid??? if thats true dont get it on the paint work...

you can get bumper paint that's designed to look like the plastic, why not sand it smooth and lash it over with this stuff?

Oh, like that vinyl paint for flexible plastic? That might actually be worth a shot... cheers!

Oh, and trust me, I park my car in an underground cos I live in a flat.... it SCRUUUUBS!!!! no colour coding for me!

But yeah, if the it looks rough after I've sanded it down, then I'll stick that paint on and away I go.

(or I could stop being cheap and awkward and go to volkswagen for a new splitter )

my splitter is like this mate, iam about 90mm and it is scraped to fook, thats why i aint colour coding mine LOL
