I have just bought a Mk2 Golf 1.6 16v DOHC and was just wondering if anybody has put one in a Mk3 coupe??? I would like to know how easy is it to change over, whats involved ect. Also can the brakes be swapped over???

I'm guessing that's a 1.8 16v Golf... And no, it's not an easy swap at all. This is asked every week near enough as well...

You'll need a custom subframe, the bonnet won't shut, the car will handle like a piece of shit (even more so than normal). It would probably go like stink, mind.

Brakes? I think the master cylinder can be swapped over but I think the calipers won't go on.
