Just a quickie really to anyone who is insured with Brentacre. Do they insure you if you've got a bit of N2O plumbed in? And is it an extra fee, or part of the normal policy cost?

I know Jez didn't have any problems insuring his car with them with a gas kit on.

You're a lucky sod living where you do, I'm same age and i pay 1800 tpft on a mk3 1.3spi!!!

Me and my dad were going through one of the nitrous controllers he had lying around, it's progressive which is an advantage. We found a few nitrous/fuel injectors, and I've been bastardising an old spi injector housing to get the shit into it, and filed a few bits out so it sits nicely on top of the existing injector. So basically, I've got a nitrous ready injector to attach to my Polo if I want. I'm thinking if I don't go ahead with the plan I could sell it for a few quid on here, someone will buy it

edit: I'll need to be getting a GT/G40 fuel pump now as well, I think I'd have miston peltage with the spi pump!

I don't think Brentacre will insure people under 19 but the only way to find out for sure if to phone them up. They normally work on the basis that you set a power limit and pay for that accordingly. You still need to tell them all your modifications but as long as your power doesn't go over your limit then the modifications wont increase your premium.

good luck with that plan mate,..but just fought id ass,. the inline fule pumps are all the same,. they all pump at the same rate/pressure,.. its just the fuel pressure reg that changes this! i know of 2 GT polo's that have used both said pumps with no difference between the two during all types of opperation of the cars,... tbh 1 of them is above 90hp with a "spi" pump. so this myth of them being different is just personal opinions imo.

Not personal opinion, it's fact- they are different. Externally they look the same, but ask anyone who has run a SPI pump on a g40, they'll find one less piston in their engine

Toby- I'd carefully consider the injector location, i presume you're using single port, located after the single fuel injector?

Yeah it's a single port. I'm not overly convinced my current plan is going to work though. I had it so I'd bastardised an old injector and got it to sit sandwiched between the current fuel injector and the throttle body.

The nitrous/extra fuel jet was mounted to that. The only problem is I can't get the main injector to spray properly now it's further away, it seems most of the fuel has evaporated or something before it goes through the butterfly.

Either way I'm back at work now and don't have entire days to fuck about with my daily driver.

Might have to get another inlet manifold, I don't fancy cutting up either my AAU or ABD one. Should be able to get some nozzles in there nicely.

Oh, and I've run out of throttle bodies and injectors to play with. Might be worth a trip to the scrappy and just get loads of random shit.

From previous experience, 100bhp increase will do the job nicely

Double up the head gaskets and a 3rd fuel injector and I might get away with 150 bhp?
