Is a 13X7 with a offset of -7 ok on a G40? Seen some wheels that I wanna get but dunno if they will stick out the arches too much to make them illegal.

hhhmm maybe I won't be getting them after all.

The rears with a good streched tyre (Not a pirelli 175/50) would be borderline (ie legal, but rubbing on the arches loaded up).

It seems such a shame to limit the driveability of a car for aesthetics. The sound of rubber ripping every time you pull a few gees through a corner aint (IMO) worth the extra bling factor.

Around an ET 15-20 front would be good.

I've got 13 x 8's with an offset of -10 on the front and 13 x 9 with -10 offset on the back

The fronts stuck out a couple of inches from the arches but they didnt clear my 280mm brakes, so i have had to space them out, now look at the front wheels!!!

Even with berg cup arches on

And yes before any smart arsed comments i know the front wheels are on the wrong side!

I may have to swap the 9's on to the front as they actually stick out less than the 8's do with the spacers.

The 9's clear the brakes basically straight away.

yeh i struggled

i have 7x13" mini lites with a -7 offset and they stuck out 2" from the arch. i ended up making custom wide arches to cover them. i wanted them a bit smoother than berg cup arches

just buy some wellers mate, 13x8 offset -10, and they werent too bad on the back, and then get 7s up front

and 8x13 et5 at the back possibly.. or even a 7!

Yeah i didnt want to wait 6 weeks to get 215/45 as there were none in the country basically!!

Pheonix i cant decide whether to get the arches smoothed in or have them race with visible screws. Its going to be make or break with the car, as there is a lot of smoothed stuff on the car so them being smoothed would look good.

Ill have to see!!

Thanks for the replies btw. But I have just found out that the Starmag alloys I want are a +6 offset, dunno where the f@~k I got - 7 from. Would I get away with a +6 offset on a 13X7 on my G?

They will stick out a little bit, probably about and inch, but yeah should be fine!

I do like the starmags, more of a ford/ mini kind of wheel but i like them.

Close, you forget that the new wheels are 7 inches wider and not 6inches like the old ones. Therefore it will be 32mm plus half of 25mm, so will stick out 44.5mm more than your old wheels

Typically,its all about how much the wheels stick out the arches. I'm always more interested in the inside. Id be having any wide rims nice and close to the suspension to keep the bearings as near the centre as possible,and enable me to drive in a straight line. That post earlier,where i said the wheels would stick out 2.5 inches - i forgot to mention that they'd stick out,as in further away from the car,an inch on the inside aswell. That's too far for me. I want to be able to enjoy driving the thing. Id rather the wheel was an inch wider and the offset an inch deeper - same on the outside,but extra expense spared on getting the inside covered.
