as title says really, just want to know roughly how much it would cost?

every single respray is going to waver in costs alot, depends on how much prep work is required, welding etc

but people i know have been quoted between £1500-2000 from respected bodyshops.

Best to just take the car along to a few and see what they say as they will all be different.

I see your driving a g40 now, quite a step up from the cl, bet your loving it? :-D

body works in pretty good condition just has a few dents here an there (the usual) an the odd tiny bit of rust dont think any welding would be needed, but £1500 was around the price I was thinking, yeh the g40 is a big step up from the cl an I'm lovin it, just waiting till I get bak form my holiday to start pimpin it up...carnt wait

If you have a look at my blog, i was given a quote by my mate, but that included everything i could possibly have wanted. It is mates rate though so id imagine add 500 to it for another bodyshop.

Got a quote from our bodyshop 3 months ago for mine ,£1350...

thats from a VAG bodyshop with my 20% staff discount on labour and materials, but thats with me stripping it myself.. only exterior aswell..

i really want a full respray... just i'd have to do all the prep but now sure what to do and how to do it?

but my mate who is a sprayer said he'll do it without the door check for 150?..

i've seen his cars and there gr8.

would i have to sand the whole car and stuff?

primer and all that to!?

i haven't got a price for paint anyone know the cost and is it only advisory to get it from vag or can i get it elsewhere where it will be just as cheap?

see my thread on DIY respray, there's a bit of info on prep in there, also about paint.

I'd say screw getting it from VW, just use a reputable bodyshop supplier..my paint (2.5L to do whole car) was £96.81 and the list price was...£145.21- so a big saving. (both prices excl. VAT and non metallics are cheaper)
