i just took the plastic pannel off from the engine bay - where the wiper motor is behind it, right at the top of the engine bay, and i found what looks like a pannel air filter :S:S does anyone know what this is?

its a pollen filter, filters the air that comes in through vents in the car

i wondered this when i first found it..Pollen filter.

On the 9n, the pollen filter is under the passengers side of the dash in the blowerbox.If you look up from the passengers footwell you can see a rectangular cover with 2 slider clips on it,filters in there.
