car was running fine. Turned off and turned back on fairly quickly but wouldn't restart properly just turned over. Have put new fuel relay in and checked for sparks from leads-got shocked! Took off fuel pipes to engine and no petrol comes through when i turn the engine over. Can't hear fuel pump turning either when i put ignition on. Do i need a new coil, distributer, fuel pump, i dunno!? Not mechanically minded any help appreciated.

if you have changed the relays etc, id guess the inline pump under the rear of the car... has it been noisy at all recently? no fuel in the pipes means it aint being pushed around the system...

did the pump stop making noise, then you changed the relays? you may have got the relays mixed up??

if it was running fine though, id guess the pump... hope you get it sorted mate

you need to get a multimeter and check for 12v at the pumps when the ignition is turned on, You should see a breif spike when the ignition is first turned on and then steady 12v when the engine is cranking.

If that's OK then it looks like the fuel pump but if neither are making any noise then I very much doubt they've both failed at the same time.

If there is no voltage there, do the same check on the blade fuse on the top of the fuse box under the bonnet as this is the fuel pump fuse, it should also get 12v just like the pump, maybe the fuse has blown? Failing all that, check that there is some voltage at the black wire into the fuel pump relay, this is the signal wire from the ecu, it should also get some voltage (much less than 12 though) as above.

the fuel pump fuse is the one and only spade type fuse in the car... the one -above- the fuse box... as i spent ages trying to find it other night on scottys gt conversion,.. turned out that the rear fuel pump shorted out whenever we moved the car - blowing the fuse. new pump cured it
