ok so my rh cups do not have any lacquer on the lips and they are a pain in the arse to clean especialy when its been raining and all the brake dust mixes,,,, i usually clean them as best as i can with soapy water and they go over all the pits that are begining to form with a rough sponge...

then i polish the lips with some auto glym metle polish....

as u can imagine this takes some time, for it only to be undone the next time i drive my car in the wet.

does any one know of a decent alloy wheel cleaner that will help prevent this or atleast make them shiney as,,, with out having all that effot??

Could you not just pay to get them laquered to save you alot of time, effort and fingertips?

peek or autosol is what I've always used. never had any problems. :-)

Lol yeah,bit of philosophy required here. Bare aluminium corrodes in days - you cant just leave it exposed. You have two choices - polish them every week,if not more - or do what everyone else does (and RH would've done if they'd polished them at the factory) and protect them under a hard shell of laquer.

Laquer doesn't like keeping stuck to polished metals though. Gives a slightly dulled finish as well.

Best bet is to get some wheel sealer. I'm not sure whats best but if you go on the detailing section of E38 some will be able to help you.

I've got bare ally lips on my RM's and they are okay, can leave them for a week without cleaning and they'll come up mint with just gold glass shampoo in warm water.

If I'm wanting to kepe them extra bling I give them a once over with just water and a sponge then dry them off with a micro fibre drying towel, put some metal polish on them.
