how do i smooth of the little thumb slot on a mk4 fuel cap. i feel like a fool as iv studied bodywork for 2years at college and have smoothed every thing on my car but this and cant work out what would be best. all info would be apreciated as iv gota paint the car in just over a weeks time cheers algis

mine had the bit cut out and a bit cut to shape and fibreglassed into it :)

get hold of another mk4 petrol cap from the scrappy, cut the nutch off your one, cut out a bit that will fit the gap, plastic weld it in, bit of filler hey presto!
