Blew my charger last night

Featured Replies

Hi all, I bought a G40 last week which had been standing for a couple of years. I don't really know much about them and was told as long as the charger pulls well, it should be ok. The charger was apparently serviced about 1000 miles ago but this was around 3-4years ago I think. Anyway it blew last night. A piece of the shell of the charger blew off! I rung PSD he said there's a belt in there that had probably gone. I didn't know this, otherwise I would of sent it to be serviced.

Anyway, obviously I now need a new charger. I've seen an eaton kit for sale. What are they like? Are they safe to fit to the standard G40 engine? What sort of power would you expect from this?

I need a charger ASAP! and just wanted to find out more about this before I think about buying it.

Any info much appreciated.

Cheers

Jake

Finding a replacement charger will be cheaper than fitting an Eaton.

Turbo ing is also an option.

you can fit an eaton to a standard engine, but will need new chip and a front mount intercooler.

I snapped the timing belt in my charger aswell :(

The car wasn't running at the time though so I'm hoping it will be okay inside.

There was a few G-lader for sale not so logn ago. I think Sally Healy had one for sale, think Damage Andy might have aswell.

I have 2 but I don't wanna sell one in case I break one. Better to have parts ready than try and source them!
