My accelerator pedal is pretty heavy compared to other polos I've driven (also mk3), and also all other cars I've driven, even a big ol landy.lol

Is there a way I can make it lighter? Like greasing up all moving parts of something?

You could check the throttle linkage in the engine bay and see if it needs a bit of oil on it, and yea you could try greasing the pivot.

I always grease mine when i take the air filter off @ a service

hmm that could be some of the reason, as it is pretty much as tight as it will go.

How loose should it be yet still open the butterfly fully??

It's worth noting that the cables can become stiff. A new cable makes them really light.

The cables dry out over the years,aswell. Sucking oil through them like a straw takes care,though the adjusting part is semi translucent and you can see it reach the end. Otherwise you'll get a mouthful. Then you blow it back out,carefully,so as not to spray it on the pedals - help is handy. But it also takes a minute or two,which is well worth it for a slick 50k miles. I wrapped a little tissue over the accelerator end,to prevent any excess dripping onto the pedal (which is still on there,come to think of it lol). Even more feel through the pedal was found by replacing the plastic pedal bushes for greased brass. Tiny modifications,typically,but it all helps make it the car it is.

Sorry hijack the thread but whilst on this topic, I'm sure my accelerator pedal has dropped is it to do with the cable or something else?
