Have been offered a BNIB set of GMax lowering springs and shocks at a very reasonable price.

Has anyone got any experience of these kits, and are they any good? I don't want to buy it if is a pile of poo, but if they are decent then i may just get them.

Just wanted to make sure there were no horror stories of kits dying after a year, which i have heard from some other cheaper kits...

Erm I've had two sets of G-Max springs snap on my Mk2 Golf in 3 years, thats front and rear springs snapping.

Its quite scary when a coil of spring goes flying off from your car, especialy for the person it was heading towards lol.

Suspension shouldnt be a case of getting something cheep, you get what you pay for in the end

i have a G-Max kit on my mk1 Golf, been happy with it

not too firm, rides really well

I realise that pamoothican, but I'm talking about getting it for a tiny fraction of the retail price, so I'm not trying to skimp - if they are a decent kit then the bargain would be well worth it!

Nothing wrong with Gmax, heavily tested stuff... and they're really not that much cheaper than other brands.

i used to have gmax on a rocket ship mk2 gti. no complaints

Helped to fit Gmax to a mk2 gti 4-5months ago, no problems. Nice ride too.

I had a G-Max rear shock that leaked very quickly on my GT

i had a pair of gmax front shocks that lasted about a year and were absolutely shot
