You shouldn't need an adaptor, as most headunits come with ISO connectors.

If it loses its memory, you may have to swap the switched live and constant feed wires. These normally have bullet connectors in the stereo loom, that you just swop

As above, Red and yellow if I remember rightly when I fitted mine. (Alpine 9855)

easiest thing to do is get the changeover block thingy from halfords.

converts all the wires to match the head unit.

You shouldn't need an adaptor for an alpine though. I've got an alpine unit in my GTi and also one in my G40 and I never needed any adaptor for either of them.

nice one dudes, gonna atempt it on sunday, i'm off work then.

the cd changer wont work though will it?

i'll prob get the thing from halfprd though, i dont like messin with the wires, probably swap the wrong ones around! lol

You don't need to mess with any wiring, and adding looms just makes it more difficult to pustthe unit into the aperture.

Worst case scenario, you lose memory, and the cables you will need to then switch are the only ones thatyou are abe to switch, they have plugs about half way through.

Keep it clean and tidy, otherwise you aint getting the HU in! Just have a go at it without a adapter!

so what colours are these two wires again? just put one with the other isit?

you do not need and adaptor from halfords!

volkswagens are have a standard iso connection, therefore your alpine will plug straight into your car.

you will need to swap the red and yellow wires around on the headunit. this is case with most cars, not just vw's!

hope that sums it up!

cool, so its the wires on the head unit not the polo's ISO. i thiniik i got it, shall attempt it on my next day off :p lol

thanks!
