Just bought this and a unipart fuel filter for £23 from a partco round the corner.

The fuel filter is Unipart but the cambelt is Gates. Never heard of these are they any good / will the service interval be the same as VW.

Mine had a gates powergrip belt on it when i got the car @ 96000 miles. Guess it had been on a while probably from the standard 60000 service.

My cambelt which I replaced 8000 miles ago is Gates belt. No problems yet.

Cheers for replies - its going on today so cant be any worse than the 7 year old VW belt I'm driving around on borrowed time with at the minute.

swapped mine for a gates power grip at 47,000 miles for the second time. seems fine to me
