basicly i need the boot to take my bikes about so dont want it clutered with amps and subs as they will get damaged stright way. but i still want a good bass sound for my drum and bass what would you guys recomend its for a 6n if that makes a diffence

buy a small sub in a small sealed box with a grill?

buy a 10" cerwin vega V-MAX subwoofer......get a sealed box less then 1cubic foot (which is tiny)!

the v-max is designed to work with less than a cubic foot box!

sound deaden the box, and most of the boot if you can.

this will seriously give some wicked bass!

Cerwin vega subs are the dogs bollocks!

10" v-max will set you back around £150....

or ebay.

Hehe, i guess it also depends how much a d.i.y pimp you are as well, you could lose the spare wheel and build a false floor to house the sub in the spare wheel well, you'd need a beefy grille to cover it but that shouldnt be a problem. That way you'll lose almost no boot space at all.

However, its not something i'd do, i dont like the idea of travelling without a spare wheel. If you're the same or dont think you're up to the d.i.y job then yeah, mitch's suggestion is probably a pretty good one! Its not to cheap tho! is that 150 for the just the sub alone with no amp etc mitch?

What about a Bass Tube?

Custom Made box for the side of the boot, Will sound less louder, due to the cubic volume being lower but that way you only get a little bit of a reduction in boot space.

I have a little Vibe active sub (basically a sub with an amp screwed to the side). It's small, but if it gets in the way, I just unplug it and take it out.

you can get little subs you can put under your seat. don't know if they are any good though...

Lupo GTI's don't have a spare wheel because they don't have a spare wheel well cause of the exhaust. Instead you get a can of tyre weld with them. Could do that instead!

put the sub in the wheel well, seal off the box, and then put a grill over the top of it, nothing too showy, and high enough that the cone doesnt hit it, that way you can protect the speaker and still carry stuff, that's what i'm gna do anyway

I saw a sub on ebay the other day removed from an audi A3. It was Bose and was designed to sit on top of the spare wheel in the boot. Wish i had placed a bid i bet they wont come up that often.

you could ditch the sub idea all together and try this method instead! 1st sound deaden the whole car (with dynamat or whatever takes your fancy) better sound deadening means you will hear more bass(road noise etc is low freq, this cancels out a lot of bass sound in normal cars), this means you could get away with high quality components up front run off a decent amp to provide your bass. taking things a step further you could mod the front door cards to become sealed or proted enclosures for the mid bass units.hey presto you still have a boot and you will still get decent bass responce

iv made an install on the side in my boot... 8" Diamond Audio...its not loud nor does it hit the very low freq's but it gives u that 'missing' bass

it wont give bass that a pair of subs can deliver no, but it will give a nice punchy midbass sound. at the end of the day if you want space its very difficult to have really powerfull bass, as its all about how much air you can shift in a certain space. you only cure I've found is to have two polos! one with a pair of 12s and a couple of amps to boot and the other with amped 6" mid bass speakers fitted in ported enclosures for practicality!

i was gonna suggest a similar thing, but raise up the rear passenger footwells and put em there. DUB 3:16's idea is better tho.
