Been to the scrappie today, and i think i've found a set of wheels for the polo.

There 15x7, ET24 and of a 3 series beemer, so 4x100

Think these will fit on the polo (2F/mk3) with 185/45 tyres? would rather get 195/45 but the extra clearence would be nice

Make sure the centre bore fits, by the sound of it the wheels will fit but may stick out the arches a tad.

i thought that might be the case, pretty sure the centre bore is 57mm

You wont get them on a squareback without a lot of work,but they'll squeeze onto a coupe. I'm not familiar with what 15" tyres work on a MK2/F,just go for the smallest you can get hold of.

165/50s and a highish offset and 15s will go on without arch mods!

hmmm didnt really want to run too much strech, mainly because no one round here will fit em! to be honest, 165/50 isnt an option

You may get away with 175/50, they will be stretched but not very much I would imagine. I had them on a 6" rim and they sat flush, so will give a small stretch on a 7" I would guess.

ET24 isn't to stupid either.
