cheers for your help guys. decided not to do the 20vt conversion this year know. going to make a 1.6 afh and save till next year for the 20vt intead of getting a huge loan and putting myself in debt. i dont mind spending alot of money it because i love it makes me smile everytime i drive it, get looks from loads of people because polos just arent modded here in jersey. and the birds love it for some reason allways get people offering to buy it off me. so if it does this as just a bog stock 1.4 what is it gonna be like when its running like 300bhp gonna make me smile from ear to ear thats forsure. i dont run a car like a bussines see no point in just buying another car cause it is better for less money. this car as mine and i want to make it a beast.

well so far my conversion has cost me 2.5k in parts and about to start puttin the engine in I'm going to b running qpeng plug and play ecu

with a ihi turbo and a few other tweaks

i reackon it will owe me 4k by the time I've finshed which i isnt bad

a lsd is a defo though if u hav this conversion

I'm thinking of this conversion too as i love my lil 1.3 6n it handles its been lowered 35 mm and gas shocks but coilies should make it better as for the conversion id be looking at doing it all myself so it will be the parts that cost !! I'm sure the handling can be made better though its just a matter of strut braces coilies wheel spacers and gentle throttle round the corners but as you say when it dusts fast cars straight line or not especialy more when its done by yourself then its a good achievment and will bring the feeling of a dog with two dicks !! so dont give in !

qpeng seem to be the people to speak to about the loom side of things, have they made you a harness for your polo as i know the make them for the mk2 golf etc?

how are you going to run ihi with qpeng?

the qpeng ecu is for running stock engine with k03/4/s isnt it?

i don't meran to piss on mike1's bomfire, but if i remember correctly then jersey's speed limit is 40mph, would you actually be able to set the 20vT free on the island?

You might be able to do it for that much if you do all the work your self. But don't for get you will want to spend a nice bit of ££££ on the gear box

Na Ian left ages ago. Deffo was not there when Craig had his done.

I would not use them tho, as i know they pissed about a member on here for months and months.

For a 1.8T conversion into a Polo we would normally suggest you budget around £6000, this would include you buying the engine, loom, clocks, ECU and gearbox from a donor vehicle (we don’t supply second hand parts so we would need you to get us these), our labour charge for fitting the conversion (approx £2500) plus all the other parts you’ll need like custom driveshafts and aftermarket management system to run the car on. Theres also quite a few hidden costs that come with the conversion, try to make sure your donor engine comes with as many ancillaries, ie pipes, sensors, starter, alternator etc as these bits really add up when you have to buy all of them too….!
