Bodyshop Quote???

Featured Replies

Right,,dude from Bodyshop Customs came to look round my car today to give me a quote for the work thats beign long overdue,,,the list is as follows..

1,Sort rust on door bottoms,,rear arches,,round two windows.

2,Remove dent from bonnet,,doors,,sills.

3,Smooth sills and weld joints.

4,Roll all 4 arches.

5,Smooth handle and badge and boot and fit solenoid.

6,Full respray in existing LC9Z Black.

All in it came to £1100 which seemed ok to me as they're good and have built some nice motors but I've heard mixed opinions now and am unsure,,,what do you guys reckon,,,good deal????

Well Considering the amount of work to be undertaken including paint and labour that does sound quite good, but I'd want to see some other cars and the finish first.

they're just on with a nice vr6 but aint even nearly done,,,and did some crazy gold 306v6 thing that werent that nice but quality of work was good.

Any signs of overspraying, or paint being too light?

Thats a good quote dude....people I know have had quotes for a respray in the existing colour for about £1000! But thats inflated london for you....

I thought it was quite good,,,gonna have a look round some of their cars tomo.

does he have spray booth etc??

@ Sooty...I had some damage done on the back of mine a while ago, got a quote from whites acccident repair---£1050 quid...Spoke to Tuningwerks, max he'd charge me was 450! Depends who you go to, if they have a spray booth its much safer, you won't get Paint contamination if its well kept.

I got to about £1700,reading through all that. Thats based on replacing rusted arches, given that they need rolling, and removing windows etc. Then using water-based paint and putting it in an oven (not literally lol - a hot-room).

That is f**king cheap.

But you get what you pay for

Your right matey,,,you do get what you pay for,,also he said they wouldnt be using water based paint as apparebtly its not upto much (went into more detail)..I'm gonna go have a gander round some of their cars tonight and see whats what,,,cheers for the help lads.

sounds like a very good price! if that 306 you're on about is this yellow thing i think it is with 2xv6 lumps in it thats a top finish!
