evening!! right started to lower my car this weekend.. and as per usual nothings ever simple for me

i started doing the rears first, took the bolt out on the near side a piece of piss, but the off side didnt wanna know, the nut came off its just seized is the bottom of the strut (i had this problem on me last polo) i hit it to try and crack the seize but no, I've wd40'd it and still no, I've even heated it up with a lil hand held gas touch thing lol and its still not budgin.

but anyway.... my question to all u lovely folk is.. have you got any ideas on how to get it off???

Lets start off with this whole "no" thing. Why no? No because you're Mr Muscle? No because you've rounded the nut off? What?

Anyway,you're not going to be using this bolt again - you're going to be going to an iron mongers and getting a replacement (B&Q are the modern capitalist monopolising equivalent). So you might aswell go to your nearest family-run tool makers (Tesco's) and buy an angle grinder,and chop the nut off.

it's happened to me before where the bolt is seized inside the bush in the bottom of the strut, I got a breaker bar on it but the whole bush started to rotate.

In the end I had to grind the head off the bolt and cut through the other side of the bolt with a hack saw blade, also cutting through a part of the strut itself.

thats exactly whats happened. i think I'm gonna have to get the grinder out aswell.

had the smae problem loering my mk2 this week !

chopped it off and replaced it ! :-D
