just had a go resetting my air bag module on my polo 6n2 after replacing my pedel box in my car and not connecting the air bag connection before connecting the battery terminal.

was using vagcom to reset the error but was prompt with a message stating that a scan to find the fault my damage the module permanently?

is it ok to scan for the error or is there a easier way to do this?

am using vagcom 409.1 with a blue cable from ebay if that helps?

I've got the same cable and VAG-COM version, came up with the same warning but the scan didn't do any damage to mine. I don't think it damages the module, I think it may set the airbag off, but I don't think it was the 6n, I read somewhere that the airbag in certain VW's could be premutarly set off by using VAG-COM.

it should be fine....

the warning is actually aimed a bora's in particular......read the whole message....

you were right mate... it did not specifically say it was aimed at the polo 6n2 which is good but still had no hope resetting the module.

heres the first message i received

then got this after waiting 30 secs and trying to find the fault again.

anyone point me were am going wrong.

first time using vagcom but got to start somewhere.
