I have a 1.4 CL Match 1999 and it has this annoyingly small cubby hole on the passenger side instead of a proper glove box. It looks like this can be removed but is there a glovebox that will fit this space? If so what is the part number etc? I hope you can help. It is a great car but the lack of in car storage is a real problem. Thanks.

Hmm not entirely sure but possibly an earlier mk4 glovebox would allow more room? my mates is smaller then mine :) But i'm guessing its because theres something else behind it causing VW to put a smaller one in. Not exactly an expert lol

So you have an airbag rather than a large glove box I'm imagining. I'd don't think theres a proper box that can go in there due to safety, if the airbag was to go off could send lid and contents flying. Just a thought.
