Any idea how to change the air filter :-o

cant seem to see how to open the housing

or do you have to take undertray off and do it from below

just to make it harder :x

when i got a service done on mine i got told that you had to replace entire housing at a cost of £80..... :?

Any Pics of the engine cover itself?

If i remember correctly,the air box is behind the battery in the bay. There are two phillips head screws on the top left of the airbox, undo these and lift and slide the cover out of the two lugs on the other side.

Taking the inlet pipe of makes for better access aswell.

If its very early 1.4tdi lump the engine cover itself is the airbox,pop it off and it seperates via phillips head screws underneath.

Correct me if I'm wrong,haven't worked on one in ages!!

i think the tdis sometimes have the air filter in the off side front, and its cylindrical (like my a2) and changing the filter means taking off the undertray

and i think the other type is a flat panel filter

not sure where that is
