Standard G40 Exhaust setup

Featured Replies

righteo, my midbox & backbox have given up on the G, I have a straight thru backbox here but need to source the remaining parts, so are these parts easily available (ie standard mk3 polo 1.3 fare) or is it a case of ordering them & getting them fitted due to being wider bore etc

the car is J reg which as I understand it I can lose the cat & still be ok for mot emissions etc, anyone confirm this?

So can I get the remaining parts I need from quickfit or whoever & get the decat of here (was it hardhitter?? doing them) and then get it all fitted at once??

nice one bruvva :-D

yep,its legal on a J reg. You'll probably need to measure the diameter of the exhust bits you already have and find some suitable reducers etc..

52 mm a g40 exhaust aint it? the clamps are 49.5

thanks for the info, will look into it...

If you want to stay standard then get the whole exhaust from VAG, wont be cheap though. The decats are about £90+vat and the midbox the same, but the backbox is £175. You can get pattern ones but apperently the quality is no where near as good.

If you can get Ernst branded parts, they're just as good as genuine.

I've got a bosal mid section for sale if thats any good. I stopped do the de-cat pipes a long time ago.

wasnt someone supplying g40 almost genuine from german ebay for about £40 ??
