would an offset of 33 be ok on a boxback with 14x6j wheels??????????

should be fine mate, but someone on here will be able to to confirm that. What wheels are they?

It'll be fine.. the standard offset for VW is 38.. so your wheels will be stuck out more by 5mm.. Which is F/A..

I have some 14x6 with a 38 offset and 5mm spaces so will sit same as yours.. mine sit well inside the arch still!

I had 13x6 ET30 and needed to do a fair bit of arch work to get them to fit. My car was dropped 70mm at the rear though.

Guess it depends on what tyres you fit. I had 175/50/13.
