I'm thinking of upgrading my brakes...sori...i HAVE to upgrade my brakes, i was thinking of puting 1600 mk4 drums on the back but i'm stuck on what to put on the front, i cant upgrade my back ones without changing the front ones as it tends to lock at the back, what would you stick on the front, i've been told that seat ibiza gti disks and calipers will do, but i dont want to spend loads and find out they wont fit, i was also wondering would golf gti brakes do? i need something much better than polo brakes as i tend to go quite close to the limit...

firstly you need to find out why you are rears are locking up as they shouldnt be... tyre pressure too high?worn tyres?or if u dont have ABS, probably not, then the regulator on the rear axle may be damaged

your probably better off starting with better pads/discs at the front...and a good service on the rear drums with new bits where need be

I aggree with what tej said. I dont think the brakes are too bad on mk4 polo's really. If you really want a bit more stopping power then i remember a guide on uk-polos (in the DIY guides section) that told you how to do a rear disc conversion on a mk4 polo. I read the guide but sounded like a bit too much work for me but u may be up for it.
