whoops! Crashed my car!

Featured Replies

Came off a roundabout and the next thing i know, we ar espinning around in circles, smacked into a kerb and parked on a verge backwards! d/s rear wheel is fucked, bent inwards at the bottom! Not quite sure if theres any other damage.

Anyone had any damage like this and fixed it? need a car that works. Got a rear axle from a fox i might be able to use. I don't know.

HELP!

Post up some pics so the damage can be seen?

Fox rear axle will be the same. Just depends whether the shell's straight.

shell ought to be straight i hit a kerb in the clio at about 70 (back passenger side wheel, lift off oversteers a bitch) and didnt do nothing to the shell, back axles of FWD cars tend to just take the brunt of those kind of accidents, but you should have it checked out anyway cause even if the shells bent, even just slightly it will make the handling dangerous.

Its not a Clio, but yeah, the rear trailing arm on the drivers side should be the only bent part. Other than the wheel itself,of course.

Use new axle mounts aswell (or the mounts on the Fox axle). Once fitted, with the steering perfectly straight, measure the precise distance, between front and rear hubs on each side. Any variation, adjust the position of rear mount as necessary.

If there's clearly damage to the rear chassis leg,the shell is bent, and it'll never be right.

my mates coming over to look this morning as he knows a hell of alot more about cars than what i do. At the mo, it just looks like the wheel is fucked and the drums been hit hard but i doubt thats all that is wrong.

I feel like a right fool considering where i did it and I've done that roundabout hundreds of times before.

Oh well. Shit happens.

Complacency, perhaps? Noone ever knows when its all gonna go the way of the creased yogurt pot lid. It happens. And it could've been worse - everyone's okay, and thats all that matters.

shaken but was funny in a sense. wanted to get out, lock it up and say to the other half loudly "now remember where we parked!"

I did this not too long ago and it bent my rear axle, buckled two wheels and burst my passengers side shock and bent the TCA. All sorted now though.

Handy when there are spare 1.0 rear beams hanging about near by ;) :-D

Ah bugger you're back from weegie land then? I'd best pop that axle down to you

Cheers :D
