It has Orange peel in a fair few places, its expected. The car hasn't been touched with anything after the paint!! It will be flatted/buffed etc once the paint been left to harden and I'll then post better pics of the paint work.

The rear panels are just plastic! :p

Seat belts may be changed later, no harness pads though!

And heres what mine look like right now.. Look patchy but thats where the holes are, it'll look tight once the top plastic piece clips in.

i will reserve judgement on the doorcards, but I'm sure they will improve then theres more on them

pmsl at the haters slating the orange peel.

the lads 16 ffs! hes done it in a one car garage and probably saved over £2k doing it himself.

so maybe hes the one whos laughing even if he cant be in with the detailed boys.

good work young'un, keep it up.

Lol calm it, like I said the Orange peel will be gone just soon!! ;)

More pics of the door cards when they're done, maybe Sunday.

have you ever wondered why your getting orange peel? if you are spraying at the right pressure you shouldnt get it. what ratio are you mixing the paint?

  • Author

2:1 + 10% Fast Thinner. To be precise guys, its not even Orange peel. Its over spray.

I love it, you don't half get some know it alls on forums.

The work you have done is nothing short of awesome. I know its only photos, but the car looks very well finished. Also, you are only a lad! When I was 16 I struggled about tring to fix my push bike lol. Well done mate.

Its like an oil painting only half done, and people moaning about this or that. THE CAR IS NOT COMPLETE. You guys obviously know that, so will reserve all critical comments like that until this chap has actually completed his masterpiece.

now then,,,what happened to you today???

Cheers doddypolo :)

Lmao @ Rich!! Sorry theres no update but I've been working on another lad's bumper and spoiler - There was no choice really, I was skint so I made a bit of money from that. Hopefully will complete my interior plastics today and get the door cards done.

whats the point? sorry but it lokos gash imo, not a fan of the colour and also your making it look like a turbo not actualoly making it a turbo.... hrmmmm.....

roflorangepeel

more like lemon peel! lol

not saying i could do a better job cos i probably couldnt but tbh i'd rather drive around with fucked old paintwork than put a shit load of time in to doing the bodywork and respraying it just to end up with a finish like that...... and the colour........... hrmmmm yellow! lool

Don't post then if you don't like it! Surely you've just wasted time typing that negative post? I'd rather not have posted if I didn't like it.

Looks good work for you budget/age. Keep it up :)

It was aimed at tatisntsaitnsanmrk3polo or what ever his name is, not you rich :)

whats the point?

The point is I can have a first car that looks like my favourite car, but doesn't go like one but thats only because of insurance.

Oh does it loko gash then? No problem pal, we all have our own opinions ;)

And yes I think I'm aware I'm making it a Turbo replica.. And your point is?

Have the paintwork been buffed? Nope. Does every other car that gets resprayed also get buffed? Yep. Have you seen the paint work in the flesh? Nope. Don't see you having room to judge!!

not strictly true, I've painted quite alot of cars, i would say 70% of them I've never buffed, and they had mirror gloss finishes. only time I've buffed a car is if its been a spot repair to blend the edges.

i would 1500 wet the areas that youve got overspray or whatever on, then buff with G3 on a porter cable should come up mint after that.
