I went to a few bodyshops yesterday just to have a gander at their work, and all three buff any metal panel with G3 compound after a paint job.

Some of my car does have a mirror gloss finish, its only a few small areas that don't.

Thanks for your advice, thats what I plan to do once the weather sorts it self out!

I've been following the theard and think you your doing a great and very detailed job not to keen on the colour mind but each to their own etc

Those door card will be sooo loud when its all together i hope the rest of the interior will be in keeping

I like it. And yellow is an awesome colour. I like Starlets as well.

A respray is a huuuuge job to do, especially on your own with limited money and equipment. Fair play.

Colour is always going to be a matter of opinion - fair enough, each to their own - not everyone likes yellow (mind you, I didn't hear anyone complaining about the colour when Tom Garrett was rebuilding his colour concept last year). Think of it this way, you'll get lower insurance premiums, because statistically yellow cars are involved in fewer accidents (highest vis colour).

Rahim, do you think you might turbo it when the insurance premiums come down? Because by the looks of the work there, you've got a shell that's probably going to last a while.

Today I thought I should fit the rear quarter glass myself, so off I went to buy some bonding glue. It was a pretty straight forward job really..

Also fitted the rear quarter interior panels and painted the pockets Yellow

And the centre console

And all the back interior refitted, needs Black carpet me thinks?

I know what you mean about the plasticy interior but the rear looks alot better now painted, looked gash in grey!

i dont really care that its not a polo cos its a cool thread and makes a change from looking at pics of slammed rat'd polos on ats classics! I think yellow is a spot on colour for a jap motor like the starlet, subtle just wouldnt work well with it
