Hey everyone, here is my baby. i bought her back in November 2006 but it's only in the last few months i have started to mod her.

Model: 6n2e

Engine: 1.0

Suspension: PhilJ springs and shocks 60mm (front) 50mm (back)

Brakes: Standard

Wheels and Tyres: BBS RXII replicas 7J with 195/45/15 tyres (wider than the genuine RXII's)

Exterior Styling: GTi front lip, Fk Angeleyes, HID conversion kit, Front fogs, rear black badge, took 'polo' off the boot, mudflaps

Interior Styling: Magic tree, cupholder/coin tray

ICE and Security: Sony GT200, Mutant 12" sub and amp, and some crappy alarm that was in it when i bought it

Future Plans: Colour code the bump strips, Recaro Leathers (me likely), Aero wiper conversion

Looks like the exact same base car as mine, Black, 1.0. 3 door, black interior, and we have the same headlights :)

Oh and where did you find the backbox i need one, and any look on finding an induction kit?

have you had any rubbing of the arches etc?

lowered 60/50, mine is apparently 60/40, but I'm sure it looks lower than yours.

Dave-6n2: i bought the exhaust off "Maxim" off here, when he was breaking his mk5, oh and i havn't really been lookin around for an induction kit yet as the new wheels have lowered by bank account severly, but when i have the funds i will be looking.

davelondon: Yeah went with the replicas, i think they look really good on the car, without making the car stand out to much. i'm pretty sure mine is lowered 60/50, as yet i have had no rubbing. no worries about getting your pictures up, i had a look around on your member profile and found a pic you had posted up in another topic.

As soon as anything else is added i'll post pictures and keep everyone updated.

You wouldn't really get rubbing with that size and lowerage, only with 5 people in the car!! Looks wicked , I've got an induction kit in mine, but under the standard engine cover...K&N do em, but expect shat MPG once you've fitted it. Any more plans for it?

I'm pretty sure i dont get any rubbing but the max i have had is 4 in the car, i'll check it when i next wash it. wasn't expecting any rubbing otherwise i would of looked around for 16" alloys.

i really want to get the bump strips colour coded, i think that will be my next improvement, just need more money!!

it was a bit of a bitch, due to the pipes being different diameters, and then the reducer pipe used was blowing, i have only just managed to stop the blowing, it's pretty loud. but I'm used to it now and i like it :-)

oh and i kinda like my standard grill, was looking at the GTi one but never got round to buying one.

You won't believe the difference it makes when you adjust the ride height, raise it up about 20mm and it'd be almost silent. I was well surprised when I put the standard suspension on, I couldn't hear it

You get a better throttle reponse i.e when you press the accelorater much faster kick. Not much of a power gain, just a loud ass rumble, just makes the engine breathe better.

funny that, i have the exact same wheels as hammy, and i still get rubbing even when I'm driving on my own, plus my car isnt even as low as hammys. iv got a 60/40 drop on mine.

maybe you guys live on runways, lol.

Maxim: Thats quite funny really, i thought it was just a noisy backbox and didnt really think it was height dependant. oh well i like the noise it makes.

davelondon: Trust me i don't live on a runway, but down a very bumpy country road. But if you are down 60/40, your springs must be quite soft. i know the springs i run are very hard, hardly any body roll.

There must have been something seriously wrong with your car if that happened. The BMC increases the air flow into the engine, hence the ECU recognises that and sends more fuel throughout the rev range. No idea how a K&N would increase MPG, it decreased mine by about 40/50 miles when I had it on.

True but dosen't it also mean you get more power from the same amout of fuel?

Cold air going in means greater expantion when it ignites?

Also I think its due to the air flow not being restricted so the car gets the right amount of air for the fuel meaning you won't geat a rich mix when you floor it?

I'm no expert but mine really did improve.

how does the backbox sound? any rumble? an is it worth gettn? nice ride

just bought 1.o polo grey couldnt get gti as i was banned insurance ttoo much
