hello, basically i have a 96 polo 1.4 8V no abs, engine wise its standard (have big valve ported head to be fitted in near future) it sits on coilies so its down 80mm and since then braking is shocking. When i say shocking i mean any sort of over average pressure on the pedal the wheels just lock up or if i hit a divet in the road they like to lock aswell, the wheels are the standard skinny 14inch steels, pads and discs are ok, erm is there any upgrades or conversions to 16v's gti's etc? that any of you can think that will do the trick as its pissing me off and is dangerous specially in the wet, any help is much apprecited cheers

have u had tracking & camber checked?

Yeah,if the tracking hasnt been adjusted,the front wheels will be pointing toe-in,as lowering the body lowers the steering rack and pushes the arms out as they level.

This means that you're already breaking traction to a small degree just by moving - so traction is already lost,even before you brake,and that amplifies as you brake.

ahh sounds like thats the culprit then i will have to get it checked out, thanks
