Sump Guard

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find a sump guard, or entire under-car guard for my 6n, just wondering if anyone has seen anywhere that has them? i emailed volksmine and they said they can order me a sump guard in from volkswagen, i havnt asked if its plastic or stainless or anything though

I really need something that protects the bottom of my front suspention arms, engine and middle section as these bits take a battering :[ specialy the front suspention arms as there about 2" off the ground

Help? please :]

Sorry to thread hi-jack.. Would mind one of these on my MK3! It'd have to be metal as plastic will last 5 mins!

well for the mk3 I'm planning on adapting a mini one when i get the car on ramps... so you could get one of them and give that ago

I seem to remember yeha advising one of the rallymongols that you could make one from a piece of plywood and skin it with a road sign. Can imagine that would do a fairly decent job of protecting the sump, and i dare say it would spark quite nicely when it scrapes too!

It would be quite ironic to use a speed bump warning sign hehe.

that is actually a brillaint idea!!

double up some road signs...about 8 times!

:)

Perhaps not the most lightweight answer, but if it saves the sump then you can't argue!

Yea I'm using plywood and a sign hehe. haven't worked out what I'm doin about the rear brackets yet tho.

you can get one for a caddy (which i assume is the same as a mk4 in the engine area)

get a lower strut bar and a go get a long wide ish road sigh and put the 2 toghter and bobs you are uncle!! you've got a very cool sump gard!
