Featured Replies

For those that have real low suspension how do you jack your car up i am going to need a low profile trolley jack i think but was just wondering weather anyone had and tips or tricks on how to get around it with a normal trolley jack? 8-)

1. drive up on some wood or some thing

2. use the standard jack comes in the boot (scissor jack)

3. use trolley jack

yep as above but what ever you don dont go under the car til the trolley jacks down... even then chock the car from dropping on you some way

I usually drive onto a long piece of wood, then drive up onto a spare rear hub I have and that usually gives enough clearance. I really dislike sissor jacks and won't use them unless I REALLY have to.

wicked ideas. i dont really like scissor jacks either tho they seem well unsafe.

just use a widow maker on the sill just enough to get the jack under

how low does the widow maker go? usually it isent enough...

low enough we use a stock vw one and it gets low enough

if not try other makes

can get em from scrappys

migth get another one from the scrappy as i need one to make ma arch rolling and flaroing too anyway

what is a widow maker? sorry if its a dumb q.

Just means the standard scissor jack..

Because.. many guys have been lost to the garage in the sky by using one to work on their cars (without a proper jack!) Hence - their wives become widows :(

slowly searches the forum for the guy on here that had the car fall on his face can anybody help find that pic lol tahts enougth for you to use it properly!

^ oh yea lol put me off using one for life!!

I use the widowmaker just to get the trolley jack under the ARB mounts. I ALWAYS use an axle stand somewhere even with a trolley jack for extra safety..

the3 best thing for them is for them to be chopped up to make a arch flaring tool THATS IT

haha awesome ok cheers for the ideas saves me 70 quid i guess in getting a low profile jack, but hopefully i wont get a crushed skull! if you dont hear from me in a while u will know whats happened lol.

If you can fit one under your car that just means your car is not low enough. try harder

my stock vw one goes under with a big of persuasion.. but jacking it down again is a big no no.. it gets stuck on the floor...
