Hi, Does anyone know where I can get a decent Boot popper from? All the ebay ones look shitty and cheap.

get one from a scrapyard, I got a boot solenoid off a BMW on my GT

I'd recommend the DEI 522T it's made by the makers of Clifford Alarms and has a pull capacity of 50lbs. Made of metal so a heavy duty unit.

same as above, i've got one on my car, works a treat.

If you wire the popper to the release lever, and not put too much pressure with clever installation angles, you can just use a standard solenoid like those supplied by Maplin for around £15. I use them in bith my doors, and tailgate with no problems.

Boot popper kits are about £16 delivered off eBay (a proper boot soldenoid that is). Not much in it pricewise I'd go for the solenoid for longevity..,however G40 is right you could use a normal door lock solenoid but I'd be concerned about the shortened lifetime of the actator due to strain on the gearing.
