changed my fuel tank recently on my mk3 polo new tank came off the estate version off the polo didnt know there was one but know it clicks off when i am filling up bit off a pain when putting 30pounds worth off fuel in. any ideas how i can solve it chears

u have a blocked or kinked breather pipe bud, check the main one from the top of th tank into the filler neck cos it usually eihter gets trapped or can come un connected

is that an internal or external pipe. if so at what areas should i look cheers

u can access the pip look in the rear arch where the neck is and there will be a pip leading into the car/rear quarter. go insid the car and lift the bottom of the seat and remove the drivers side quarter panel. reach down and u should be able o feel the tube in the panel and also see it on the top of the tank ,(u will have to unscrew the round cover to access the pump top) but that shoud sort it out for you

chears boss will give it a look to moz see what is what. also dont know if its related i get a strange cutting out off all power some times could that be air in the tank being drawn through

right i have looked at this breather pipe sorted out any blocks that and kinks and put everything back went to try it and boom it clicked off again. there was a lose pipe coming off the throat off the filler cap but it looks like a over flow more than anything

mmm sounds od to me bud? maybe try dropping the tank and checking the float and pump then giving it another go

maybe it's just a small tank...
