Cambelt change (2nd one should have been done by then). Oil leaks/gearbox/pedal box. Also airconditioning will need antibacterilised and regassed. Lamda probe/cat failure. Typical things to expect of a 7 year old car.

How often do the cam belts need to be changed? it has had a gearbox rebuild 20k ago how often do they need doing as i heard of problems with the gearbox's and pedal box what signs should i look out for if pedal box is on way out.

cheers

Cambelt due every four years or 60k, the spot welds on the clutch pedal bracket start to seperate from the pedal box,you can visibly see this.Your pedal box may have been done under a VW recall, check your history or ring VW up, it'll be on the system.

right wil do i will have a look tomorrow and get it all checked out

cheers

Cam belt has to be done every 40000 miles by current VW admissions
