Immobaliser stopped fuel pump!!

New 2 polo's

Can I:

a; remove the immobaliser, or

b; bypass it, or

c; can I reset it!

Prehaps there is something else I could try?

posted simalar in electrics, not sure where this post belongs?(new)

Car is polo 1.9 diesel cl hatch 1999 t reg

if it is the immobiliser thats the problem the most common part to fail on that system is the key reader coil. it fits around the end of the ignition barrel.

this will need programming to your car once fitted, so you'll need to find a compitent garage with a diagnostic tool that has dealer capabilities, either that or just take it to the dealers which will probably cost more

Just did! cost me 300 nick to be told that the immobaliser is dening access to the fuel pump?

..says the key part is OK? :?

This isnt likely to work,but its free,so might aswell give it a try..

Disconnect the battery,and leave it for a few hours.

Then reconnect the battery and leave it for an hour,minimum.

Some immobilisers can sometimes sort themselves out if discharged,and then left reconnected to reset themselves - but obviously this only works if its a random reading fault.

Mine also packed up this week,but it was an aftermarket circuit-key type one,and i was able to disconnect it altogether - which took time.

No, still no joy :-(
