my car was parked up and wen i glanced at it i thought the friggin thing ad a flat tire as the passenger side is so much higher than the drivers side it looks bloody stupid..........is it just the rear that is keepin it lop sided?? i think I'm guna av 2 get some collies for the rear, only way i can think of 2 correct it. is ther n e 1 else on here who has had this prob and managed 2 correct it?? this is beggining 2 really get at me as it just looks totally ridiculous

Best explanation so far is that all the weight's on that side when it's RHD. So it sags.

But tbh, once you've changed all the suspension for new, why would it sag?

exactly I've had all my suspension out and thouroughly checked by my mechanic at vw and ther aint nowt wrong wiv it its fucking stupid I'm gettin so pissed of...... so sumits gotta be sorted. i dont understand what is physically stopping it from leveling out??? so weird

Its a MK3 Thing.. Something to do with the weight being distriputed correctly in the RHD original spec. so when converted to LHD they sag slightly. If you look at your back wheels from behind one sticks out further than the other too!!

one wheel sticks out further? i'd get your axel aligned mate, coz mines sure as shit not like that.

the sagging is just because of the weight distribution across the axel. fit coilovers and it'll disappear

It's the weight distribution, on LHD's they don't seem to do this as much.

After 20 odd years with the wieght of an an engine and driver on one side you can't expect the car to sit straight.

The right hand rear wheel are about 2 or 3mm further out on every single mk2/3 Polo I've ever owned, I believe it is related to the fuel tank and filler neck, it is most noticable with wider wheels on a squareback..

Have you tried picking up a cast iron engine block? It aint light. The alloy gearbox is a little easier to manage. The fuel tank covers more of the rhs aswell. All together,we're talking the weight of a lardy passenger more on that side. If i climbed on one of your shoulders,you'd be leaning aswell. This problem is nothing new in light cars,you've probably just not noticed it.

I accept that, but surely they didn't leave the factory leaning.

And, as the Mk3 was based on an old design when it was new, surely in the 15 years before it went into production they'd have found a way to make them leave the factory straight.

So, if they didn't leave the factory leaning then something's wearing out and making them do so.
