Featured Replies

When i am parking it feels like the side walls of the tyres are shifting or something .. checked the tyre pressures and there spot on ... Could it be because of my 15" wheels ?? COuld it be a loose steering rack ?? ANyone got any ideas ??

Also i have a rattle coming from the rear right of the car .. so annoying .. cant figure out were it is coming form though!

It sounds like it could well be your CV joints.

Yeah.. will be scraping.. my 14" wheels do it on full lock. Is your car lowered? if so by how much and whats your tyre size?

Sounds like tyres could be rubbing on arches at full or near full lock. How wide are your 15s, offset and what tyres are you running?

When does the rear rattle? Moving, turning, bumps, accelerating, braking?

Your CV joints click or knock.. if its knocking then its that.. it its a scrape sound it rubbing.

the rattle at the rear, is it inside. not the parcel shelf bouncin about. mine did the same till i used velcro on it! lol.

or is its like mine, i used lowering shocks n springs on the rear and the rubber bushes split so the shock was knocking on the inside of the suspension mount

Wheels are 15" from mk2 16v golf Tyres are 195 45 15"

I have it lowerds but have had arches rolled and slightly cut back as they used to rub really bad ..

Havnt had a problem with rubbing after that ..

Must be the CV joints ... Which are ?? I've basically changed the whole font end when had MOT a couplke of months ago .

The rattling comes when i go over bumps and knocks when decelerating ..

I have real hard shocks and springs so i always feel the bumps way too much woth the 15"

I have checked the rear lights ... Stripped the car completely all panels and everything in the back and it still rattles now ... rather annoying really .. deff isnt the exhaust although that makes a obscure noise in the wet .. the joys of a backbox for a alpha on the polo .. so hard to fit .. i think i have 3 new exhaust mountings! drilled and bolted through the chassis and floor panel.

Engine rocks too much and keeps making it fall off though .

Now that sounds like a promising idea .. will have to check laters . not in this weather ..
