just got all the parts i need or think i need got the new g40 pads disks and calipers just seeing how big a job it is. anyone else done this mod on there car

it is just a case of swapping over the calipers and bleeding them through

It should be as simple as, screw plastic sheet down over brake fluid reservoir, pads out, caliper off, remove old disk, fit new disk, fit new caliper, new pads, new hoses, remove plastic sheet, bleed and top-up brake fluid, repeat until no bubbles or sponginess.

Removing a disc can be a sod if a brake disc retaining screw no longer has a head!

(my current problem)

Haynes BOL says for Mk2 Polo that the clip to secure front brake hose was changed around 1985, so you will need hoses to match the VWII calipers.

To remove a stuck disc locating screw,turn the disc so the screw is on the caliper side,then pull the opposite side of the disc toward you. This will stretch the head of the screw out a mm,and it'll then be easy to turn out.

great stuff getting it done soon. it gonna make a big difference. how big a job is it re newing all the brake tubing. had a look on myn and they are in top condition so that might be a later change.
