Are G40 calipers the same as Mk1 Gti calipers??

I'm on the hunt for some G40 brake calipers and wondered if Mk1 Golf Gti calipers are the same??

Any help would be great

Yeah.. The cappipers are the same on G40's/MK1 Golf GTI's The carrieres are differnt tho, but work! So if you get them off a mk1 golf get the carriers too.

You are looking for VWII stamped on the side.

Some MK2 golf/sciroccos etc have them too.. But you HAVE to check the width between the holes where the caliper fastens as some are wider then the polo ones so wont work!

the mk1 golf gti carriers are the same as the solid disk late mk2 and mk3 polos with the onlt difference being the sliding bolts threads that the calipers slide on

yeah the carriers on a mk1 golf gti are the same as g40 too. the VWII calipers are found on loads of VWs from the '80s/early '90s.
