Has anyone on here ever done the above? iv heard a fair bit about turbo'ing a G40 engine but is this also possible on the GT engine with all the correct parts, inlet manifold, downpipe etc?

i may be wrong but are they not the same engine apart from the camshaft and obviously the charger, and mapped different?

If its a viable alternative to a G40 ill look into going down that route :-)

it depends on your definiation of viable. its possible, using a G40 to start off with would be a better option.

The biggest difference is a G40 is 8:1 compression and a GT is 10:1. You could turbo a GT, even at that compression, if you can get enough fuel in. That's the hard part... making sure you don't melt pistons.

The easiest and therefore cheapest way is with a G40 lump. ben999 (I think) is selling a freshly rebuilt G40 engine for £500 in the for sale section. This would be an ideal base, and PSD are selling turbo parts now.

Bargaaaaaain at £500 considering it cost that much for most of the rebuild!!!!
